Memorial concert for Pete Locke and Alun Jones – Saturday 17th September 2022 at the Prince William Suite of Penarth Conservative Club, 15 Stanwell Road, Penarth at 8 pm
Keith Little is pleased to announce a very special evening of jazz to celebrate the lives of two of the greatest characters on the jazz scene in Cardiff – Pete Locke and Alun Jones, who passed away during the lockdowns. There will be music from The Riverside Jazzband and the Keith Little Hot Six on the 17th of September, plus guests, in the Prince William Suite of Penarth Conservative Club, 15 Stanwell Road, Penarth starting at 8 pm. There is no charge. Please come along and give them finally the great send-off they deserved.
So many had their lives touched in such a positive way by these two. Alun played with the Icon Jazz Band at the Quebec Hotel and then the Lion’s Den at the Great Western Hotel and went on to play with the Riverside Jazz Band and ran the Preservation Jazz Society for 26 years. Pete led the Riverside Band from start to finish and then was with, and co-managed the Hot Six with Keith for 20 more amazing years. This will be a cracking evening. Please make a note in your diary.
